Protected load switch handles 4A for USB
AP22615 is similar, but with output current adjustable over 400mA to 4A – Internal Rds(on) is 40mΩ. Input range is 3V to 5.5V.
USB PD3.0 fast role swap is supported, and the output voltage recovers to USB valid voltage
range within 110µs during a USB PD fast role swap event.
Fast short-circuit and output over-voltage response is claimed.
Both TSOT25 (AP22815) and TSOT26 (AP22615) packages integrate discharge circuitry for external capacitance on the output pin.
Other protections include reverse current blocking, over-current, over-temperature and short-circuit protection. Controlled rise-time and under-voltage lock-out is provided.
Applications are expected switching loads and sequencing power rails in Ultrabooks, tablets and and other portable PCs, as well as set-top boxes.
